Team Captains
1. Team Captains (Seniors or Juniors)
o One Senior or Junior boy and girl will be chosen by the coaches and team by vote.
o Captains must compete in at least 4 tournaments in a season.
o Interested candidates must submit a three-paragraph essay outlining their introduction, passion for archery, leadership abilities, and dedication to the team’s success. The submitted essays will be shared with the entire team.
o Team Captains will be issued a “C” patch for the front left of their Jersey for the season.
2. Captain Responsibilities
o Captains will serve as ambassadors for the club, representing the HHS Raiders Archery team to the High School, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School/Range, tournament hosts, coaches and archers from other teams, and the Hastings community. As ambassadors, they will actively seek opportunities to promote and positively represent the team.
o They will help coaches by communicating important information to team members.
o Captains are expected to welcome new archers, answer questions, and offer guidance to help them feel included and supported. Archers should easily recognize and feel comfortable approaching the captains
o Captains must lead by example, especially regarding range safety and proper archery etiquette.
o Captains are to attend new archer practices.
o Captains will be responsible for supporting and participating in fundraising activities.
o Captains earn an archery letter upon the successful completion of their duties.
